Six equal planes meeting at a point that had been open to the weather for a winter. Every hip was cut by hand and the apex closed with a copper cap.
A six-sided roof has six hips and one point where they all meet. That point had been open to the sky since a storm the previous winter.
What the flight showed
Curling on the north plane, moss at the south-east eaves, three hip caps gone and a hole at the apex the size of a dinner plate.
What we did
A full replacement, with every hip cut by hand and the apex closed with a copper cap made in our shop.
