A gutter that looks level holds water. We pitch every run a quarter inch in ten feet, which you will not see from the ground and will notice in the first heavy rain.

The roof area and pitch tell us how much water each eave has to carry, so downpipes go where the water is rather than where the last installer found it convenient.
The edge of the roof
Most rot starts at the eaves. While the gutters are off we replace soft fascia and fit drip edge, so the new gutter is fixed to sound timber.
